The creation of a new-XQuartz.dmg did work. It happened with some video files I had in a different folder. It happened a few versions back when I first started testing out FreeNAS on my new system (v 9.1 Release I believe). As an added note, it likely won't provide value, but this isn't the first time this has happened. Ok, nvm attempted it locally and didn't work, so did this from the FreeNAS through terminal.
